Specs are what we all expect:
6.2L LT4 600+hp - this is the engine from the 2015 Z06, less power of course
7spd manual standard, 8spd auto option
MRC - third gen, or whatever their latest is
Brembo's - bigger than your swollen balls while driving it
...Recaros, alcantar+leather+wood+aluminum+carbon fiber, Michelin slicks, LCD screens and screens, race modes
One neat thing
: we may see some kind of CTS-V+ model, similar to that of the AMG Black series, which will be flat out nuts.
Motortrend makes stealing their pictures hard, go here for the rest: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Is a 7-speed manual a thing now? Why have I never heard of this?

2014 CTS has been given a lot of well deserved hullabaloo, give it more of everything - turn everything up to 11, and it could be a contender.. Unless your price range is Nissan Versa CVT.

Standard in the C7. I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on waking up from a coma (do people get congratulated for such things?). But yea, it's the standard trans in the C7, the GM self-developed 8spd will debut in the 2015 Z06 and is apparently pretty fantastic.

Thanks, man. Good to be back. It's bright out here.

It actually surprises me that this will have less HP than the Z06. The previous gen CTS-V had about 50 horse more than the same-gen Z06 IIRC. Z06 had 505 and the Caddy had 556-ish, I think.

The two don't really go in tandem, the first gen CTS-V only had 400hp in both it's engine offerings, LS6 and LS2. Even with the power, the CTS-V is still a luxury vehicle.

You're right, the original CTS-V had only 400hp. The "outgoing" generation however, (the one they are replacing) has 556hp. It is based on the Zr1 engine. If I were looking at these two vehicles last year, the Caddy had 51hp more.

Yea, but like I said, the Z06 and CTS-V power figures do not run in tandem, which is why I mentioned the first gen CTS-V as an example of that. And again, the CTS-V is still a luxury vehicle.
The Z06 is now, more than ever, a road going race car. The purpose of the Z06 is to be a lighter, more rigid, more harsh, track going Corvette, just as the Z/28 is over the ZL1. The CTS-V isn't playing that game.
As a consumer product, the CTS-V and Z06 have nothing in common with one another.
